SATURDAY 17TH MARCH

Registration and the safety brief will take place at the Wanaka Recreation Centre

What to Bring: Every competitor must present:

  • Photo identification

There are no changing facilities at Edgewater but you will be able to store drop bags from 07:00 – 07:20. Please arrive changed and ready to race, and allow time for tracker collection. Aim to be on the coach by 07:25. If you miss it, you'll miss the event.

The Wanaka Sprint start is in West Wanaka, and athletes will be taken there by coach from Edgewater. Please use the coach provided as there is insufficient parking at the start line. There are no changing facilities at Edgewater but you will be able to store drop bags from 11:30 – 12:10. Please arrive changed and ready to race. Aim to be on the coach by 12:15. If you miss it, you'll miss the event.

DROP BAGS

You may leave a small drop bag at in room number 501 at Edgewater before you board the coach.

We recommend a change of clothes, shoes, money and a towel so that you can join us at the post-race social. There will be event staff in the area but bags will not be attended at all times and you leave them at your own risk.

If you arrive at the start under your own steam (not on the complimentary coaches), you will not be able to leave a drop bag there.

CUT OFFS

We use cut off times to cap the time that each swim stage is open. Otherwise our water safety teams would be out on the water for too long and we'd risk people swimming after dark. Also we want to ensure that our entrants have a suitable level of fitness to safely undertake our courses. Consequently, cut off times will be strictly enforced. If you miss your cut off and continue to race you will be disqualified from this and all future Breca Swimrun events.
